A Thoughtful Transformation in Falls Church
First Floor Remodel
|
Falls Church, Virginia
overview
Our clients in the City of Falls Church love their neighborhood and didn’t want to move—but their home needed updates to better fit their lifestyle. We designed and built a first-floor remodel that modernized their kitchen, reconfigured the layout for better flow, and added an ADA-compliant full bathroom for accessibility and comfort.
The kitchen was extended and completely reimagined to create an inviting, light-filled space that blends timeless style with everyday function. Custom cabinetry in a soft, creamy finish pairs beautifully with quartz countertops, brass hardware, and a handcrafted tile backsplash. Floating oak shelves add warmth and a touch of organic charm, while deep drawers with adjustable pegs keep dishes and cookware perfectly organized.
The large island anchors the room, offering extra prep space and seating for casual dining. New energy-efficient windows, under-cabinet lighting, and refinished hardwood floors bring cohesion and brightness throughout the first floor. Every detail—from the dentil crown molding to the sleek built-in appliances—was designed to feel both elegant and effortless.
A former powder room was converted into a full, ADA-compliant bathroom to accommodate the homeowner’s mother. The new curbless shower ensures safe, barrier-free access, complemented by slip-resistant tile flooring and thoughtfully placed fixtures. The serene color palette and natural materials make this space feel just as beautiful as it is functional.
This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can make a beloved home work beautifully for every stage of life—without ever needing to move.
